Release of NEW Course: Workplace Violence and Harassment

Harassment and violence have become increasingly more present at work-sites. So much so, that OHS has put a focus on correcting this behaviour in Alberta workplaces.

Do you know that OHS requires that every work-site have Harassment and Violence prevention plans?

Are you in compliance?

The MHSA Workplace Violence and Harassment training course teaches employers, supervisors and workers how to effectively identify and react to the hazards of violence and harassment in their workplace by creating and implementing prevention plans.

Students will learn to:
- Identify violence or harassment through observation and hazard recognition,
- Prevent acts of violence or harassment by developing and implementing prevention plans, including policies and procedures,
- React effectively to violence or harassment by utilizing training and response plans.

In addition to compliance with legislation, there may be ethical and financial impacts to a company should violence or harassment be left unchecked. We all have an obligation to ensure the health, safety and welfare of those at the work-site.
