Intermediate First Aid CPR-C & AED

In your workplace it is critical to have supervisors on the ground who are trained in coping with emergencies. Your employees can receive all the training they need through a comprehensive Intermediate first-aid course. This is offered in Edmonton & Rocky View areas, as well as throughout Alberta for manufacturing companies who can benefit from the specialized training offered by the MHSA, which is designed specifically for industry workers.

Course Description

Intermediate First Aid (formerly Standard First Aid) meets the Alberta Government approved comprehensive First Aid and CPR training requirements for adults. Participants will learn skills including recognizing and treating for shock or unconsciousness, coping with non-breathing casualties, choking emergencies, treating wounds and broken bones, and managing eye injuries, burns and environmental illnesses. In addition, CPR training and automated external defibrillator (AED) training and certification are provided - all in just 2 days!

Course Content:

  • CPR for adults, children, and infants 

  • Using AEDs

  • Choking and breathing emergencies 

  • Mental health first aid 

  • Opioid overdose awareness 

  • Bleeding and burn management 

  • Bone and joint injuries 

  • Environmental emergencies

*First Aid Certification is valid for a 3-year period from the date of successful training.
