Fall Protection Course (Non-OSSA Accredited)
** Effective January 1st, 2022, MHSA class participants, contractors, and visitors are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or to provide proof of a negative test result within the last 72 hours. The 72hrs should cover the entire course dates scheduled or a secondary negative COVID test will be required in order to complete the course program. To verify vaccination status class participants, contractors and visitors will be required to provide their unique QR code or a negative test result with government issued photo ID.**
Our fall protection course meets industry requirements for all types of workplaces. For fall protection training, Red Deer, Calgary, and Edmonton workers can show that they are up to date with the latest standards by holding a certification for the non-OSSA-accredited course from the MHSA. This course is essential for the safety of individuals and their fellow employees who work in an elevated environment where there is a risk of falling.

Course Description
This 1-day Industrial/Commercial End User course is designed to prepare participants on the thorough understanding of the uses of fall protection. This course covers the many options that exist for working at heights, and will identify which option is best for your needs. This course is delivered in 8 hours that includes both theory and hands on activities using video analysis, and plenty of student participation.
Each participant will be required to declare they are physically capable of performing the Controlled Weight Transfer. If a participant cannot partake in this activity, the OSSA accreditation will not be in effect.

Upon completion of this course you will know how to:
Correctly chose, fit and use the most effective methods of Fall Protection
Have successfully completed the Controlled Weight Transfer
Understand equipment specifications, limitations, care and maintenance
Understand the need for prompt rescue
Understand methods of eliminating fall hazard
Note: Participants must achieve 80% or more in the written exam to meet the Minimum OSSA requirements.
CRSP Points: BCRSP has previously awarded CM points for this event. The current contains 8 technical hours and may be eligible for BCRSP CM points. See BCRSP web site at www.bcrsp.ca for CM point criteria.
