Day of Mourning
MHSA observes The National Day of Mourning which is held annually on April 28 and is also a member of the organizing committee. The National Day of Mourning was created to commemorate workers whose lives have been lost or injured in the workplace.
NAOSH Committee
MHSA participates in NAOSH week and also is member of the committee. NAOSH week is organized in order to focus employers, employees, partners and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home and in the community.
Health and Safety Conference
MHSA is a member of the Health & Safety Conference Society of Alberta (HSCSA) which is a not-for-profit association consisting of health and safety associations, employer associations, professional societies, and other strategic partners. The aim of the Health and Safety Conference Society of Alberta is to promote the importance of Health and Safety by hosting a multi-partner Conference annually that will provide a source of Health and Safety education to the conference attendees.
Canadian Hoisting and Rigging Safety Council (CHRSC)
MHSA participates in the Canadian Hoisting and Rigging Safety Council (CHRSC) which is dedicated to the harmonization of hoisting and rigging standards across Canada. The members consist of applicable major stakeholders across Canada. MHSA is also a member of the Crane and Rigging Board of Directors
Workplace Health Workshop (WHIP)
The Workplace Health Improvement Project is a project developed by Alberta Health Services (AHS) in partnership with Alberta industries. The project’s goal is to improve the health of Alberta’s workforce by enhancing health promotion and chronic disease prevention. MHSA is one of four Certifying Partners involved with the workshop to provide input on improving workplace health in Alberta. More information: Evaluation Report and Evaluation Summary. ITF (Industry Task Force) Association
The Industry Task Force (ITF) effects positive change in policy and legislation through the views of the members of the Association on issues related to Workers’ Compensation in Alberta. MHSA is a member of the ITF Executive Committee.
